“Figures from professional quoting website,, show the average nationwide cost for a BER Cert, is down 10.74% in Q2 V Q1, to €257 from €287. A domestic or commercial BER cert is required when renting or selling a residential or non-residential property. Standalone buildings with less than 40sqm are BER exempt.

The figure is based on a total of 587 quotes submitted by 100+ BER Assessors.

“In total, 258 Ber quotes were submitted in Dublin vs 329 for the rest of the country. The most expensive quote during the period was €2K in Fairview, Dublin 3, whilst the cheapest quote for a BER Cert was €168 for a 2 bed 67sqm apartment in Blackpool, Cork.”
